Fire crews had to cut a man from a vehicle after a collision this morning (Tuesday).

The crash, involving two vehicles, happened around 10am on the Hitchin Road, near Pirton village.

Three people were taken to Lister hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries. A man and a woman in one car suffered minor injuries, while a man, who had to be cut out of his vehicle, was taken to the hospital with hip injuries.

Ambulance officer Gary Sanderson, who attended the collision, said: “All three casualties were treated and stabilised by land and air ambulance crews before they were taken to hospital for further care.”

The incident was declared over by 11.15am.
