A person is currently trapped inside a car following a crash on the A1(M).
The crash happened just after 11am this morning on the southbound stretch of the motorway between Junction 7 for Stevenage and Junction 6 for Welwyn.
A car collided with another vehicle before it left the carriageway and hit a tree. It then ended up on the hard shoulder.
The fire service, police and air ambulance are all currently in attendance to try to free the person inside the car.
Junction 7 on the southbound stretch has been closed and there are heavy tailbacks in the area.
The other driver was not trapped and was treated at the scene.
