Motorists are still dangerously parking their cars on a Stevenage road, months after the Comet brought it to the police’s attention.
Police have been putting warning notices on many cars in Primett Road, but they seem to have little effect on some drivers who continue to use the road as a car park. A spokesman said: “We will continue to monitor the parking situation in Primett Road and any motorists who have parked their vehicles irresponsibly and in contravention of a clearway will be issued with a warning notice or a fixed penalty notice if it is a repeat offence.
“Motorists must be aware that this course of police action is ongoing and they have a responsibility to other road users to park appropriately.”
Despite having no markings or signs the road is subject to a traffic order prohibiting vehicles from stopping or waiting there. Herts County Council is working with the police on the issue.
