A motorist walked away with only minor injuries after the car he was driving ended up on its roof on a country road between Hitchin and Luton last night.
The crash happened at about 8.30pm in Hollybush Hill, just south of the A505 near Lilley, with emergency crews including firefighters from Hitchin rushing to the scene.
The firefighters carried out scene safety around the overturned Renault Clio, which was partly blocking the road, and gave trauma care to the driver until paramedics arrived.
A member of the Hitchin crew – which hours earlier cut a motorist out of her car after a serious crash on the B656 near Codicote – posted pictures of the Offley crash on Twitter this morning with the words: “Twice in a day ‘lucky’ springs to mind. Walked away with minor injuries. Words fail me.”
Police said the vehicle was recovered and the road was clear by 10.15pm.
