A driver was taken to hospital this morning after two cars collided at an accident blackspot junction on the outskirts of Stevenage.

Emergency services were called at about 8am to North Road in Stevenage, at the junction for Graveley Road, after a crash involving a grey Vauxhall Signum and a blue Toyota Aygo collided.

Two patients were assessed by paramedics, who were on the scene in four minutes, and a driver with neck pain was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage with non-life threatening injuries.

The road was partially blocked while the Aygo was recovered, but police left the scene shortly after 9am.

The Comet has reported on three crashes at the junction this year, and a petition has previously been launched to change the layout – having been altered back in 2012.
