A bus driver has been taken to hospital after losing control of his vehicle at Stevenage bus station and colliding with another bus.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, was taken to Lister Hospital after the crash shortly before noon today (Thursday).

While the driver’s single-decker was empty, the bus he collided with had passengers aboard. Thankfully no-one was injured.

East of England Ambulance Service spokesman, Gary Sanderson, said: “We believe the man was taken suddenly unwell whilst driving. The bus then collided with another single-decker bus in the station. The man was treated and stabilised at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to hospital for assessments.”
