A motorist was cut free from his car and taken to hospital after a crash on a major Stevenage road yesterday afternoon.
The crash, at 3.14pm in Gresley Way, involved two black Ford Fiestas.
Police said the driver of one of the cars was initially helped by a passing nurse, before the fire service cut him free and paramedics took him to the town’s Lister Hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters from Stevenage and Letchworth & Baldock stations attended the scene, near the junction with Uplands.
The road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene, and both vehicles were recovered. Police had the road open again by 5.40pm.
