TWO young men were hospitalised after car smashes in Stevenage and Letchworth last night (Monday) and this morning.

Paramedics raced to Bude Crescent in Stevenage after reports of a Vauxhall Corsa hitting a concrete fence post shortly after 8pm.

The 18-year-old driver was treated at the roadside for minor injuries to his head and chest before being taken to Lister Hospital.

This morning a 29-year-old cyclist from Letchworth was taken to Lister with hand and face injuries after a collision with a white transit van at the junction of Broadway and Hitchin Road in Letchworth at around 5.45am. An East of England Ambulance spokesman said his injuries were minor.
