Road delays have been caused by faulty traffic lights this afternoon (Tuesday).

A fault at the lights on Hitchin Road, Stevenage, has led to minor traffic delays and a build-up of vehicles stuck in the nearby Sainsbury’s car park.

A spokesman for highways contractor Ringway said: “We can confirm that we are aware of the problem and that a specialist team are on their way to the site to repair the fault as soon as possible.”

Twitter user @Debby_has_socks made the Comet aware of the situation when she tweeted: “Coreys Mill Sainsbury’s carpark gridlocked, traffic lights out of sync, nightmare!”
