Delays are expected to train services between Hitchin and Cambridge after a teenager fell off his bike and onto the railway track.

The incident – after which the boy was treated by paramedics – happened at about 5pm at Shepreth branch junction, and all lines north of Royston were blocked for half an hour.

According to line operator Great Northern, delays of up to 40 minutes are expected between Hitchin and Cambridge until about 8pm.
