Safety checks still need to be carried out before a footpath can be repaired following a burst water main in Stevenage town centre yesterday.
The burst main, which flooded the footpath outside Costa Coffee in Queensway, was fixed by 5pm. However the damaged footpath is still awaiting repair pending the safety checks.
An Affinity Water spokeswoman said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
“Our contractors are working to resolve this matter as soon as possible and we would like to thank our customers for their patience.”
