A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a lorry on the A602 in Hitchin.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service shortly after 9am to crash involving a lorry and a bike on Parkway, as you approach the Three Moorhens roundabout for Stevenage Road.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the cyclist, a man in his 50s, was injured in the crash but was conscious and breathing.

The cyclist was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage but the spokesman said his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Traffic is heavy on the A602 in both directions and emergency services remain on the scene.
