A cyclist in his 40s suffered injuries to his spine after a crash involving a car in Hitchin yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called after the man was in collision with a purple Ford KA in Whitehurst Avenue at about 5pm.
An ambulance spokesman said he received a ‘suspected spine injury’ and was subsequently taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
Roads in and around the area including Periwinkle Lane and Water Lane were closed until 6.20pm.
