A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after colliding with a car on Webb Rise in Stevenage yesterday.

The 39-year-old cyclist collided with a black VW Golf as it was travelling towards Lonsdale Road, opposite the junction with Meredith Road around 7.40pm.

He suffered serious head injuries and is in a critical condition in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The road was closed until around 11.40pm as investigations took place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call Herts Police on 101.
