The motorcyclist left in a critical condition after a crash on the A602 this morning has been moved to a different hospital, while the road has now reopened in both directions.

The man in his 40s sustained very serious injuries to the abdomen and head, and had multiple fractured bones after coming off his bike at about 5.45am on Ware Road – close to the roundabout for the A119 and Watton-at-Stone.

The motorcyclist was initially taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage, but has now been moved to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further care.

He is said to be in a critical condition.

The A602 was shut in both directions following the crash, but the road fully reopened at about 11am.
