Police have shut Aston Lane near Bragbury End following the collision, which took place close to Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre just before 9am and involved a silver VW Passat and a blue Mercedes tractor.

Initial reports suggested that a man was trapped inside the car after it was left on its side, but the driver was out of the car when two fire crews from Stevenage arrived.

The ambulance service was also called and treated the man for minor hand injuries.

The road, which leads to the village of Aston, remains closed at this time but is expected to reopen shortly once the VW has been recovered.
