Work to check the condition of the A1(M) between Stevenage and Welwyn started yesterday and will carry on until tomorrow, but no lane closures or temporary lights are scheduled.
Highways England is carrying out the ‘pavement investigations’ between junctions 6 and 7.
A spokeswoman told the Comet that the lack of closures or lights indicated that the workmen would not be on the main carriageways, and that traffic should not be affected.
