Two children involved in a serious road accident have been discharged from hospital.

They suffered serious injuries following an incident on the A1(M) at junction 7, near Stevenage, in which a blue Toyota Celica overturned.

The driver, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman has also been taken to hospital but is currently in a stable condition.

PC Andy Ralph said: “We are doing all we can to find out what caused this collision and I am therefore appealing for anyone who saw the incident take place, or the events leading up to it, to get in contact with police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Ralph via the non-emergency number 101.
