Firefighters released a casualty from a car that overturned on the A507 between Baldock and Buntingford last night.

Crews from Baldock & Letchworth and Buntingford fire stations attended after the crash near Cottered, which happened shortly before 10pm.

Police and paramedics also attended the scene, with the ambulance service sending a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Hazardous Area Response Team.

One passenger was trapped in the grey Mazda RX-8, and was released by the firefighters. The car was later recovered.

The patient, a man descibed by the ambulance service as in his 20s, was assessed at the scene and taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital for further care.
