A car is on its side in a freezing river after a driver lost control in a village.
The female driver suffered minor injuries after her red Vauxhall Agila left the road by Walkern Mill and crashed eight feet down a bank into the river. The vehicle ended up on its side in eight inches of icy water.
Police were called to the High Street in Walkern shortly before 2pm this afternoon (Thursday) and have closed the junction with Greenway.
A recovery vehicle is on the scene.
