A boy was hospitalised with head injuries this morning after a collision with a car at a junction where a woman died after she was struck by a 4x4.
The 12-year-old was taken to Lister with head and leg injuries sustained in the collision as he tried to cross Popple Way, Stevenage shortly before 7.45am. His injuries are not life threatening, The East of England Ambulance Service said.
The location, where a cycle path is interrupted by the road, was the scene of a fatal accident in February last year when a disabled pensioner in a mobility scooter attempted to cross the road.
