A 12-YEAR-OLD boy and a woman have been hospitalised, after the car they were travelling in collided with the central reservation of the road this afternoon (Tuesday).
The incident happened on the A505 between Hitchin and Lilley. The woman, who was driving, and the boy were both injured when the car collided with the central reservation.
The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) was alerted just after noon, with crews from Hitchin and Stevenage attending the scene.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The young boy was precautionary immobilised on a spinal board as he presented back and neck pains.
“Following this he was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further assessments.”
