The A1 is now closed northbound from Baldock Services to Biggleswade after a lorry overturned this morning.
Highways England have now closed the road between Junction 10 for Baldock Services and the Biggleswade north roundabout to allow for clearance of the lorry after it crashed at the Biggleswade south junction shortly before 6am.
Diversions are in place at Junction 10 – directing motorists to the A507 – and at the Langford turn near Biggleswade. There is heavy congestion on the A1(M)’s northbound carriageway as far back as Junction 9 for Letchworth Gate.
Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended the scene after the crash. Highways England’s incident tracker indicates that the road is expected to be clear and open again between 2pm and 2.15pm this afternoon.
Paramedics treated a person for minor injuries at the scene.
