Police have arrested a Letchworth teenager and launched an investigation to trace a driver and passengers who are believed to have fled after a five-vehicle crash which shut a Baldock road this afternoon.
Officers were called at about 1.10pm after the collision, which occurred in Station Road near the railway bridge.
The road was closed for almost two hours up to the Bygrave Road turning while a green Honda Civic and a black Honda Jazz were recovered.
Following the crash, police arrested a 16-year-old boy from Letchworth on suspicion of possession of a bladed article, and are now searching for the driver and passengers in the Honda Civic who are believed to have made off after the collision.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Herts police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 347 of November 10.
