A baby and four adults were hospitalised after an early morning crash in a country lane.

Four ambulance crews were scrambled to Stevenage Road, Walkern shorlty after 1.30 on Sunday after reports of a two car collision.

East of England Ambulance Service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “On arrival, the ambulance crews found a man, a woman and a baby boy in one of the cars. They were all treated at the scene for slight injuries before they were taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

“In the second vehicle a woman sustained a neck injury and a man received injuries to his leg and ankle. Following treatment by paramedics, they were also taken to the Lister Hospital for further care.”
