A cyclist has been taken to hospital after he was in collision with a car which failed to stop at the scene this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to Broadwater Crescent in Stevenage – near the junction with Spring Drive – at about 7.40am to reports that a small white car had been in collision with a cyclist.
A man walking home from the nearby Co-op, and a woman believed to be a nurse, stopped to help the cyclist – a man in his 20s – and called an ambulance.
The cyclist has been taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
A spokesman for Herts police said: “The white car failed to stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle.
“If you witnessed what happened, or have any further information that could assist officers, please call 101 quoting ISR 132 of October 9.”
