An air ambulance has landed in Stevenage after a woman collapsed while at work and went into cardiac arrest.

Ambulance crews were called to Six Hills Way at about 12.25pm after the woman was taken ill at work.

The Herts Air Ambulance landed in the road – near to missile systems company MBDA – to assist, while a police spokeswoman confirmed they were called to the scene to help with a road closure at about 12.40pm.

An ambulance spokesman said that paramedics have been able to restart the woman’s heart and the air ambulance has since flown off.
