Air ambulance lands after serious crash on A505 near Royston

An air ambulance has been called to a serious crash on the A505 near Royston this evening, and the emergency services remain on the scene.

The crash happened shortly before 5.45pm between the roundabouts for McDonald’s and Tesco Extra in Royston.

East Herts Rural Police tweeted: “We are currently assisting @roadpoliceBCH & @RoystRrlPolice with a RTC on the A505 near Royston. Traffic is currently very busy in the area. @HertsFRSControl and @EastEnglandAmb are also on scene along with the Air Ambulance.”

Delays extend up to the A10 near Melbourn.

The Crow has contacted the ambulance service and is awaiting further information on injuries, but Herts Police has said two people are being taken to hospital.
