The Herts Air Ambulance was called after a man went into cardiac arrest on Saturday.
The East of England Ambulance Service Trust was called just after 9am to Douglas Drive in Stevenage. They provided advanced life support to a man in his 60s until the air ambulance arrived just before 9.40am.
The air ambulance team sedated and anaesthetised the patient before accompanying him to Lister Hospital in Stevenage by land ambulance, treating him in transit.
He was in a serious but stable condition.
