Traffic delays in Stevenage A602 (Image: Archant)
There are long delays between Stevenage and Hitchin this evening.
Around 30 minutes ago, HCC Highways tweeted: “A602 Hitchin Rd #Stevenage, N/B heavy delays building going towards the A1M Jct 8 roundabout. Also affecting E/B traffic coming from #Hitchin.”
It is not clear whether there has been a crash or not at this stage, but traffic is heavy on the A1(M) between Junction 8 and 7 possibly as a result of the A602 delays.
The AA Traffic website now states: “Severe delays of 27 minutes and delays increasing on A602 Southbound between A602 and A1(M) J8 (Stevenage / Hitchin). Average speed five mph.”
