Traffic came to a standstill on the A602 from Stevenage towards Hitchin last night (Tuesday) following a crash involving three cars.
Police closed the road at about 5.30pm after a Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta and white van were in collision close to the St Ippolyts turning.
Traffic backed up to Stevenage until the vehicles were recovered and the road reopened at about 7pm.
Nobody was injured.
