The A505 between Baldock and Royston is still partially blocked after a crash near Ashwell earlier this afternoon, with traffic remaining very slow.

The crash, on the eastbound carriageway near the junction with Station Road at Odsey, was at about 4.30pm – with traffic towards Royston worst affected, with long queues back towards Baldock.

It is unclear at this stage how much longer the disruption will last, or whether anyone was injured in the crash.

Update, September 6: Police have now confirmed that the crash involved two vans, with officers called at 4.51pm. The road was closed until 6.20pm. The ambulance service said that paramedics treated a man thought to be aged in his 40s for chest pain, and that he did not go to hospital.
