The A1’s northbound stretch has reopened between Baldock services and Biggleswade after a crash.
Police, ambulance and firefighters attended the scene after the two-car crash, which happened at about 8.20am this morning near Biggleswade, with the northbound stretch closed afterwards between Junction 10 for Baldock services and the Biggleswade south roundabout.
A witness told the Comet that the road had reopened by 9.50am, adding that he had seen someone stretchered into the back of an ambulance and a car with its whole driver side cut out.
A fire service spokesman said firefighters had released the patient by 9.10am before passing him over to the ambulance service for care.
The Comet is awaiting further details from the emergency services.
