The northbound stretch of the A1(M) between Junction 7 and 8 for Stevenage will be closed tonight for resurfacing works.
The motorway will be closed between 9pm and 5am tomorrow morning while the work takes place.
Herts Highways are warning drivers to expect delays as northbound traffic is diverted off at Junction 7 and through Stevenage via Gunnels Wood Road and the A602.
Motorists can rejoin the A1(M) at Junction 8.
