A multi-vehicle collision has closed the northbound carriageway of the A1(M).
One side of the Hatfield Tunnel between Junctions 3 for Potters Bar and St Albans and four for Hatfield has been closed by police after a three-vehicle collision.
Emergency services were called at about 9.05am and it was initially reported that one of the cars was on fire.
Both carriageways were closed, but the southbound lanes have now been reopened.
Traffic was stopped from travelling in both directions.
