There were long delays on the A1(M) between Letchworth and Stevenage this afternoon following a collision involving two lorries.
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway of the A1(M) at about 2.10pm after a lorry jackknifed and collided with the central reservation.
A second lorry also collided with the central reservation, and police reported that there was a ‘significant amount of debris on the road’.
There were delays between Junction 9 for Letchworth Gate and Junction 8 for Stevenage, which tailed back onto the A602 between Stevenage and Hitchin.
Both vehicles were recovered at about 3.45pm, but there were no injuries reported at the scene.
