There are long delays on the A602 between Stevenage and Hitchin this afternoon due to roadworks.
Temporary four-way traffic lights are in place on Stevenage Road in Hitchin, causing tailbacks as you head into the town from the A1(M) Junction 8 roundabout in Stevenage.
Maintenance contractor Ringway is carrying out the work on behalf of Herts County Council, which has been described as ‘sign work’ and is due to be finished at 3.30pm today.
Two-way traffic lights will also be in place tomorrow between 9.30am and 3.30pm while ‘vegetation’ work is undertaken.
