There are delays in both directions on the A1(M) this afternoon after a collison between Stevenage and Welwyn.
The incident occured on the southbound carriageway between Junction 6 for Welwyn and Junction 7 for Stevenage, with three vehicles said to be involved. The Beds, Cambs and Herts Roads Policing Unit tweeted that the collision had caused “slight injury”, but that it “could have been much worse”.
The vehicles involved are now being recovered, with delays in both directions.
Police urged motorists to “leave a gap and be considerate when near collision scenes” and “try not to slow down for a look as it causes hours of delays”.
