Police have closed two lanes of the A1 southbound near Biggleswade because of debris on the carriageway.
One lane remains open between the B658 Sainsbury’s roundabout and the A6001 Homebase roundabout.
Police and highways are at the scene trying to clear the obstruction from the closed lanes.
AA traffic news are reporting delays of more than 15 minutes and an average speed of 5mph.
