A teenage girl suffered head and facial injuries after being struck by a van in Vardon Road, Stevenage, this morning.
The Herts and Essex Air Ambulance was called and landed in the car park of the nearby mosque and its doctor helped paramedics stabilise the 19-year-old girl before she was taken to Lister Hospital for treatment.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the incident said: “She collided with a small van. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, the woman was being comforted by passers by who stopped to help out.
“Following treatment and stabilisation by the paramedics and a doctor from the helicopter, she was taken by land ambulance to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage with head and facial injuries.”
