Dangerous debris on the A1M forced its closure this morning (Thursday) for over half an hour, backing up traffic for miles.
Drivers forced to swerve to avoid two shattered wooden boards in the northbound carriageway between junctions 7 and 8 called police, who closed both lanes from 9.50am to clear the debris.
Traffic queued until shortly after 10.30am when the road was reopened.
