POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a series of 21 incidents during a four-and-a-half hour crime spree.

Letchworth GC police have received reports of offences including smashed windscreens and dented car panels across the Grange, Wilbury and Town Centre areas early on Saturday morning.

There were also reports of damage to property windows and a burglary at Currys electrical shop in Eastcheap. It is believed that all of the offences took place between midnight and 4.22am.

Insp Geoff Camp of the local community team said: "This crime series is an isolated one. Nevertheless, the actions of those responsible, shows a wanton disregard for the property of others and is totally unacceptable."

Ins Camp said his officers are in the process of reviewing all available evidence, including CCTV footage.

"I am determined to bring to justice those responsible and to assist me with this I need the help of the local community.

"If anyone witnessed the events or can otherwise provide information I appeal to them to make contact with the investigating officer."

Anybody with any information can contact Dc Wayne Moore on 01438 757388.
