The first Letchworth town centre car boot sale was held in the Arena car park opposite the Broadway Cinema on Sunday.

BID manager Tom Hardy cut the ribbon alongside North Herts District Council chairman Councillor John Booth, his wife Helen Booth and BID directors Chris Gerard and Maureen Davison.

Tom told the Comet afterwards: “It was a great success, and businesses that open on Sunday told me they had a big increase in footfall too.

“Sunday trading in the town centre is on the rise and this is just part of we’re doing to encourage it.”
