THE Conservatives consolidated their majority on Biggleswade Town Council winning a by-election on Thursday (last week).
Hazel Ramsay of Holme Court Avenue, Biggleswade, won the Stratton Ward seat with 336 votes. Her only other challenger David Albone, the Labour candidate, registered 298 votes.
The election leaves the Tory party with 10 members on the town council, Labour with three and the Lib Dems and independents one each.
The by-election was called following the resignation of Conservative member William Denny.
