THOUSANDS of people are without power this morning (Monday) after a fault in a high voltage cable knocked out supply in Hitchin.
Around 3,400 homes are still without power after the fault developed in an underground cable just after 8am.
A spokesman for suppliers EDF said: "Engineers are currently working to restore power. Power was interrupted for several thousand customers at 8.04am, and restored to many by 8.47am. Our engineers are currently on site and are working as quickly as possible. We apologies for the inconvenience caused.
