Thousands of pounds were raised for children’s hospice care in Stondon.
Shefford Leisure Group donated £1,100 to Keech Hospice Care at the afternoon tea at Mount Pleasant Golf Club, while Letchworth Garden City and Baldock Lions gave £1,000, and Gyll King from City & Village Tours added another £100.
More than 70 people came to the social tea, where the cheques were presented to Rebecca Eastwick from Keech.
Rebecca gave a short talk on what Keech means to the parents of the children there, before Doreen Freeman from Lions spoke, and 12-year-olds Alison Watson and Abbie Haskell, both from Henlow Academy Middle School, discussed a tea party they had held at school to raise about £310.67 for Keech earlier this year.
A raffle with donated prizes raised £260 more.
