A LARGE number of brand new televisions worth more than 75,000 in total have been stolen from a warehouse.

The televisions were stolen from a warehouse in Letchworth between 8pm on Tuesday June 12 and 7.30am on Wednesday June 13. Offenders gained access to a commercial property on Jubilee Road and then forced open an internal padlocked door.

They then removed 49 Samsung TVs that were still in their packaging and made off in an unknown direction. Police believe a large van or lorry must have been used in order to move such a large number of boxes.

They were identical 40in Samsung Smart Series 8 UE40ES8000U TVs.

Assistant investigator Quentin Lane, from the local crime unit in Hitchin, said: “We have a list of serial numbers for the stolen televisions so if you have been offered one for sale we will be able to identify whether it is stolen.

“Please get in touch with police as soon as possible if you have been offered a Samsung TV for sale in suspicious circumstances or if you saw anything suspicious in the Jubilee Road area at the time.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference G2/12/1075. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
