THREE teenagers have now been arrested and questioned over the assault of an off-duty police officer.

The British Transport Police officer suffered a wound to the back of his head that required 14 stitches, a broken nose and other injuries after being struck with a skateboard while walking along the platform at Biggleswade railway station a week ago last Thursday.

Two men, aged 19 and 18, were arrested last week. A woman aged 17 was arrested earlier this week. The three, who are all from Biggleswade, have been bailed pending further inquiries.

The officer, who is from Biggleswade, remains on sick leave.
