Cash, jewellery, electrical items and clothing have been stolen during two burglaries in Hitchin.

The first took place some time on either Wednesday and Thursday in Kingswood Avenue, where thieves broke into a what police have described as a garden office and took a mountain bike, Sony television and items of clothing before making off in an unknown direction.

The second burglary took place at a nearby house in Willian Road yesterday between 5pm and 10.10pm.

Offenders broke in and ransacked the home before leaving with cash, two watches – a Rotary and a gold one – gold cufflinks and black metal oval-shaped cufflinks and two gold Signet rings.

Police ask anyone who knows the whereabouts of the items stolen, or has been offered them for sale to get in touch.

Anyone with information regarding the Kingswood Avenue burglary should call police quoting reference 41/32392/18, and for the Willian Road break-in, reference 41/32344/18.
