A prolific thief from Stevenage who stole a £127 pizza meal while serving a community sentence has been jailed for six months.

Hatfield magistrates heard that Gayle Perryman, of Rowland Road in Stevenage, ordered £127 worth of pizza, side dishes and soft drinks to her home from the High Street Domino’s on August 23, then refused to pay after taking the food.

The 35-year-old also failed to attend probation appointments on that day and on August 30.

Perryman pleaded guilty to a count of theft and two of breaching her community order, which had been imposed on March 1 after a series of thefts from Stevenage’s BHS, Waitrose, and B&Q stores, as well as Co-op in Hertford.

Chairman of the bench Natasha Hurst also ordered her to pay compensation of £127 to Domino’s.
